Originally from Lewisham in London, England currently residing in Dallas, born to Ghanaian and Nigerian parents, I’m a multi-disciplinary product designer and researcher with a keen interest for creativity, third spaces, and community engagement. I’m driven by how design and emerging technologies can be used to educate, include, empower, and benefit others.

Post-graduation from high school in 2014 within 2.5 years, with an creative focus on graphic design and a professional focus on medicine; I joined a club at the University of Texas at Arlington called Mobi. (Thanks Ehis and Cameron) One week into the club, I competed with them in a hackathon in where I was asked to design a mobile application; where we placed 1st in design. This turned my dying passion for graphic design into an interest and curiosity for user experience design. Three months in, I became Mobi’s ux ambassador professionally developing and working for clients like UTA Radio. One year late, I accepted a user experience position at a company called Shift optimizing the car buying process via beacon technology.

Still not figuring out how I could translate ux into a long-term profession, in fall 2016, against my own judgement, I moved to Lubbock, picked up a retail job at Target, and pursued an undergraduate degree in biology and medicine while keeping my portfolio up and professionally developing. 1.5 years in, after being convinced by a recruiter to drop out of school and move back to Dallas (Thanks anonymous), I accepted my first agency position in 2018. Since then, I’ve worked in a diverse range of environments, gaining experience in a variety of design disciplines. Most recently expanding access to on-demand tele-health services for communities across the socio-economic spectrum.

With over 6 years of experience working in agency, healthcare, and consulting spaces, i've contributed to projects for clients such as Pager, Healthmine, Freeman, Silvercar, Topgolf, Audi, Event Dynamic, and AT&T.

As a freelance product designer, I help build incredible client relationships and deliver brilliant brands and design — all with a big smile. When i’m not designing or doing research, you'll find me either building third spaces with Huemane, cooking afro-carribean smash burgers with my friends, stuffing my face at a new restaurant (his love language), and nurturing creative ideas that occupy my thoughts during countless nights.

Thoughts on Design:

In a divided time, how can we collectively use design and broader scale, creativity to generate transformative conversations through in person and virtual third spaces to alter perceptions regarding the interplay among how black and brown sub-races and cultures perceive each other as well as how white people perceive black and brown people, and vice versa. By doing so, we can effectively build and facilitate tangible infrastructure, education, understanding, and growth among these diverse groups.
